Artist Statement
From the age of six I remember making 3d tea-cups and saucers out of cardboard from my grandfather’s new shirt packages. Spending endless hours gluing and taping and decorating.
Now as I look back, I wish I had pictures of all my creations over the years. Wouldn’t that be neat to see!
I get great satisfaction from creating, sometimes from just stuff. Things that others may discard or painting images in such detail, it forces the viewer to take a closer look!
I have always been drawn to nature and people of the land. My goal is to reflect that in my paintings and other works of art.
Lately I have incorporated my love of carving into my paintings. Giving the images extraordinary detail, texture and realism. The process is time- consuming but worth it in the end and I believe this technique makes my art unique and interesting. |
